Help support the Knysna Sea Horse.
The Knysna seahorse is a small, delicate creature with a standard length of up to 12 centimeters. They can be found in only a few estuaries on the south coast of South Africa, such as Keurbooms River in Plettenberg Bay, the Knysna Lagoon and the estuarine portion of Sedgefield. The Knysna seahorse is the most endangered seahorse in the world. They are poached for the ornamental fish industry, accidentally trapped in fishing nets, poisoned by pollution and bothered by recreational activities such as swimming and boating.
